This weekend marks the eighth weekend we have been apart, and the tenth time we will have prepared an online reflection. Today, Fr. Jan brings a message entitled “Limp Along The Way“. It comes from a phrase written by St. Thomas Aquinas:
“It is better to limp along the way than stride along off the way.
For a man who limps along the way, even if he only makes slow progress,
comes to the end of the way; but one who is off the way,
the more quickly he runs, the further away is he from his goal.”
There is also a special “Gather Us Together” message towards the end of the reflection.
So far we cannot predict when we will be able to worship together. We don’t even know what regulations and restrictions will be imposed on us should permission be given to open our church again. At best, all we can ask is that you pray for those who govern us, not only in the communities we live in, but within our church. None of these decisions will be easy.
