Jesus is the indispensable, core message of our Christian faith.
Discovery will lead you through a simple but personally challenging look at the Gospel message. Based on the Kerygma (a Greek word used in the New Testament for “preaching” literally meaning “to cry or proclaim as a herald”. Among Bible scholars, the term has come to mean the core of the early church’s oral tradition about Jesus), Discovery explores God’s personal love for you and some of the different aspects of His love: offered, proven and merciful. You will also explore Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Finally, presented with these realities, Discovery will invite you to personally respond to Christ’s Love.
“If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed… Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ – and you will find true life.” (Pope Benedict XVI)
Discovery will be offered in the St. Bridget’s BVM Hall (844 Stanley Road in Stanleyville) on six Thursday evenings starting March 19. Each session will start at 7:30 PM and should end by 9:00 PM. There will be no session on the evening of Holy Thursday (April 9), so that participants may attend the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper.
We are asking, where possible, that participants consider contributing $20.00 towards the program materials and expenses.
Pre-registration is required so that we can order each participant a copy of the program’s book. Register by email by contacting: email@example.com or complete the form below.
